Agapanthus (African lily)



Agapanthus or African Lily is a are clump-forming perennial from southern Africa. It produces clusters of bright blue funnel-shaped flowers. After flowering, Agapanthus should be left in the ground, so that they form large clumps. Propagate by dividing the clumps only when flowering has diminished.

Agapanthus grows well in full sun, need moisture-retentive, well-drained soil. Propagation is by seed and division in spring. Pests and diseases are slugs, snails, viruses.
