Armillaria mellea Gardening

Armillaria mellea is an edible species of Honey fungus and also a plant pathogen. It causes Armillaria root rot in many plant species. The fungus produces mushrooms around the bases of trees it has infected. As the fungus causing root rot to the tree, symptoms are also appeared in the crown as death and dieback of the branches. This species is capable of producing light via bioluminiscence.
