Cantharellus tubaeformis Gardening

[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Cantharellus tubaeformis (Craterellus tubaeformis) is an edible mushroom, commonly known as Yellowfoot, winter mushroom, or Funnel Chanterelle. It can be found in great number late in mushroom season, thus the common name winter mushroom. Cantharellus tubaeformis is a trumpet-shape mushroom with dark brown cap, paler gills and a hollow yellow stem. It is smaller than Golden Chanterelle (Cantharellus cibarius), stronger in taste but less in fruity smell. It is often found growing on moss or rotten wood in spruce forests.

Cantharellus tubaeformis is an excellent food, either fried or in soups.
