Charoli Gardening

Charoli are the tiny nut-flavored seeds of Buchanania lanzan, used as a cooking spice in India. Buchanania lanzan is cultivated primarily in the northwest of India. After the hard shell is crack, the tiny seeds within is as soft as pine nuts.

Charoli is also called chirongi, often used in sweet desserts, grounded into powders for thickening savory sauces, flavoring batters, and stewed into rich , meaty kurmas.
