Curry plant (Helichrysum italicum) is a flowering plant in the daisy family Asteraceae. Although it is called curry plant, it has no relation to the Curry tree (Murraya koenigii). Curry plant grows on dry, rocky or sandy ground around the Mediterranean. Its stems are woddy at the base, and can grow up to 60 cm in tall, with strong-smell leaves. In summer, clusters of yellow flowers are produced. The flowers retain their color after picking and are used in dried flower arrangements.
Oil extracted from the flowers has anti-inflammatory, fungicidal, and astringent properties. It can also used to soothes burns and raw chapped skin. The oil has intense fragrance and is used as a fixative in perfumes.
