Eremurus is a genus of perennial flowering plants in the family Asphodelaceae, comprising about 35-40 species. It is native to western and central Asia. Eremurus is commonly known as Desert Candles, Foxtail Lilies, King's Spears and Giant Asphodels. It is famous for its tall flower spikes of briliant colors, with color ranging from copper, bright yellow,snow white, pastel pink, orange or any combination of these colors. The bottlebrush-shaped inflorescence emerges above rosette of strappy, bright green leaves in summer. Eremurus robustus is native to Tian Shan and Pamir Mountains in central Asia. It is usually planted as an ornamental plant, but the plant may be too tall for normal garden. It has a stem that is 1-3m tall, leaves that is 1.2m long, 10cm wide and bright green to bluish-green in color. The inflorescence is about 1.2m in length which is covered with deep to pale pink flowers, 4cm across. Eremurus prefers full sun and well-drained soil, and is easy to grown. Propagation is by seed and division in autumn. Slugs and snails are pests that like to attack Eremurus.
