Evergreen plants are plants that remain green thorough the year. In other words they do not shed their leaves as with deciduous plants. Evergreen plants may comprise plants that do change leaves every few months, to those that those that retain the same leaves for several decades, as in the case of some species of Bristlecone pines.
The majority of evergreen plants are conifers such as pine, cedar, spruce and hemlock, as well as oaks, holly, rainforest trees and eucalyptus.
