Jasminum (Jasmine)

Jaminum (Jasmine) is a genus comprising about 200 species of flowering plants in the family Oleaceae, native to tropical and warm temperate regions of the Old World. Jasmine is widely grown for its fragrant flowers, and is enjoyed in gardens, as a house plant or as cut flowers or worn by women in their hair in southern and southeast Asia. Jasmine is also national flowers of The Philippines, Indonesia nd Pakistan.

Jasmine is easy to grow and can grow well in sun or partial shade, in fertile and well-drained soil. Pest is aphids but largely trouble free. Propagation is through semi-ripe cuttings in summer or layer in autumn.
