Teff or taf (Eragrostis tef) is a species of annual lovegrass native to the northern Ethiopian Highlands of North Africa. Common names includes teff, lovegrass, and annual bunch grass. Teff is widely cultivated and used in South Africa, Eritrea, Ethiopia, India and Australia.
Teff is high in carbohydrates, dietary fiber, iron, protein, calcium, and some other minerals. It is similar to millet and quinoa in cooking, but the seeds are much smaller, thus cooking time is less.
